May 7-9. 2008 Vermont Mountain Bike Summit. Registration now available for 2008 Mountain Bike Summit, to be held at the Stowe Mountain Resort, Stowe, VT.
This program will include valuable workshops for stakeholders in the recreation industry, including developing sustainable, profitablemountain bike programs at ski resorts, at a state federal and municipal level; and through health recreation and youth advocacy agencies.
Workshops will include: Mountain bike trail design and constructionat ski resorts; trends n the mountain bike industry; coummity based mountain bike trails; developing healy lifestyle programs for children and youth; the Kona Bike Parks program, and the International Mountain Bickycling Association 'Ride Center' program. Additionally, several trail design and /constultancy outfits will be in attendance to discuss their services. Various registration options will be , including meals and accomodation at the Stowe Mounttain Resort.

Saturday October 25 (St J/LI weekend) Race to benefit Good Shepard School. Kingdom Challenge Half Marathon and 5 K. Volunteers needed on race day.

Ongoing: Donna Lowre, professional dance teacher from Peacham is teaching a series
of 10 weekly classes in swing, foxtrot and cha cha. They now meet
at the Rec Ctr (St. Johnsbury Community Center) on Main Street, Mondays from 1-3 pm
in the dance studio. Call Jenny Patoine at NEVAAA (Northeastern VT Area
Agency on Aging) 751-0436 to sign up. Open enrollment. There is a $2
donation for each class.
They are classes are for seniors (40 and up).
These classes are sponsored by a grant from the Fit & Healthy Coalition in
conjunction with the St. J. Rec Ctr and the Area Agency on Aging.
